I'm an engineering manager at Atlassian, working on cloud security. The decade before that was mobile — iOS and Android at PayPal, Honey, Vidme, and KPCC, as both an IC and an EM.
Honestly, the line between the two has always been a little blurry for me — managing and still ending up in PR reviews, IC and always half-thinking about the team. At some point I stopped trying to fight it. Turns out it's been pretty useful.
